Upon arrival, Travis immediately noted that it seemed like the car had been sitting for a while. Dylan requested the seller take he and Travis on a test drive to insure it's operation. Dylan was under the impression that the car did not need much work as the seller claimed to have repaired a multitude of issues. The car struggled to start and drove even worse, with the clutch clunkily engaging and engine seeming like it was down on power.
When returning from the test drive, Dylan approached Travis and asked if the purchase was a good idea. The two then drove more when shortly down the road right before the exit Dylan once again pulled over and shut the car off. Dylan then ran up to Travis and told him that the noise had been louder. Travis told Dylan to quickly get back to his car and they could inspect it once they were off the highway. When Dylan went to go start the car, it would not start.

Things did not bode well for the MazdaSpeed6 after a local mechanic began to look at why the car would not start. The local mechanic ordered parts and suspected the vehicle wouldn't start due to issues with the anti-theft system. When CP&T looked at the car, a compression test revealed that the engine in the car had a broken rod bearing and the engine needed to be replaced.
Devastated by this news, Dylan asked Travis for advice and visited the car one weekend to see it. Dylan met Travis's friend Tay, who was handy with cars and had swapped engines into cars many times. Dylan then asked Tay if he would help with an engine swap, and Tay agreed—on the condition that Dylan assist with the project and pay him $1,000, which was a very low price for a full engine swap. Travis warned Tay that Dylan would most likely not assist at all. Travis tried to convince Dylan not to proceed, as he would need to commute to Lowell in his free time just to help Tay and the car was not worth saving as the body was rusting. Dylan agreed to the deal with Tay, and despite Travis's warnings, purchased a used engine for the MazdaSpeed6.

After the engine had arrived at Tay's house, Dylan and Lucas drove to Lowell to tow Dylan's MazdaSpeed6 from CP&T to Tay's house to begin the replacement. After Dylan assisted towing the car, he began sporadically visiting to assist with the full engine swap and in fact only went to Tay's house a singular time. After about two months, Dylan picked up the car from Tay. The car was not without issue however, as he could not drive it in boost and cut fuel above 5000 rpm. On September 19th 2024 Dylan had spoken to his grandmother about purchasing a 20XX BMW X3 from his great uncle (Ong Sau). Dylan had needed a bigger car due to his rapidly growing family. He decided to listen to his grandmother and let her purchase the BMW SUV for him. After sorting out the details and pricing, he took the Commuter Rail from Connecticut all the way to Massachusetts to finalize the purchase of the BMW. After purchasing the car, his great uncle inquired about license plates. Dylan said that he didn't have any but would drive the car home anyways. His great uncle had gotten very angry at his ignorance of the law and said he could not drive the car home unless he had plates. After this outburst from his great uncle, Dylan was down $250 more dollars which continued to add to his debt. 2005 Toyota Solara
Shortly after Dylan acquired his license on or around Jan 30th 2021, Dylan was gifted the 2005 Toyota Solara as a hand-me-down car from his mom's side of the family. The car was not in the best condition, being a salvage title and not looking great it still ran very well and even had Apple CarPlay. It is worth noting that the Solara had a very loud exhaust leak and was not well maintained while in Dylan's possession. Regardless, it was always reliable.
Dylan took an interest in cars after he and Travis reconnected after not seeing each other due to living apart. Travis was eager to share the hobby and Dylan took interest. When he moved to Everett on or around June 6th 2021 was when the seed was planted in his mind that he needed to get a sports car because Travis had a Subaru STI.
There are not many notable events with the Toyota Solara. Dylan drove the car until he acquired his first MazdaSpeed6. The car was then given to Travis's parents. The car was passed around afterward, swapping hands to Travis's sister, and ultimately sold to Travis's friend's niece who then totaled the car. The car was scrapped shortly after.

Purchasing the car and beginning of car troubles
Before purchasing the MazdaSpeed6, Dylan had been contemplating purchasing a sports car after being influenced by Travis both directly and indirectly. After toying with the idea of a Subaru WRX, Honda Civic Si, and Scion FR-S, He ultimately settled on the MazdaSpeed6 because of its AWD, turbo engine, and most importantly pricing. The car was located in Pennsylvania and Dylan was attempting to coordinate plans with Travis and Lucas after all the paperwork for the loan was settled. This plan was scrapped in the end, as Dylan coordinated with the dealership he was purchasing the car from to have it delivered.
On Dec 18th, 2021, Dylan initiated the purchase of the vehicle by putting a deposit of $500 on the car. He then confirmed the purchase after the loan paperwork was settled. On Jan 4th, the vehicle was delivered from a local dealership. On Oct 9th 2022, the car was totaled after rear ending a stopped vehicle.

Initial interest and Dylan's plan
In the months following the crash of his initial Mazda, Dylan sought to reconnect with the car by means of acquiring another one. Devastated by the loss of his initial car and being underwhelmed by his Si, he began scouring Facebook Marketplace in attempts to find another.
Spurred by his high insurance costs due to his crash and boredom with his Civic Si he started the process of purchasing another. This would be difficult however due to a multitude of reasons such as his likely bad credit, inability to get another loan due to having a current one on his previously crashed MazdaSpeed6, and low capital. His only chance at acquiring another one would be to taking a cash loan from either Juli or Travis.
Dylan's plan was that he would be able to return the Civic Si to the dealership to nullify his current car loan, purchase a new MazdaSpeed6 outright to avoid a car payment, and have a lower insurance payment due to the MazdaSpeed6 being an older car.
Purchasing of vehicle
On March 30th 2023, he believed he had struck gold when he found the gray 2006 Mazda MazdaSpeed6 being sold for only $3750.00. Dylan was able to haggle the price from the seller down to $3000.00.
